Rabies, a negative strand RNA virus belonging to the genus Lyssavirus has existed since hundreds of years. Available historical texts called it 'an ancient curse'. From Aristotle in fourth century BC present day, rabies various species animals. Modern day molecular epidemiology proven evolving nature virus. The showcases considerable genetic plasticity and hence still exists as tangible threat 21st century.
